Michael Quay Carlberg

SIOUX CITY -- Michael Quay Carlberg, 44, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. today, with the family present 4 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

Michael was born Dec. 19, 1964, in Sioux City, the son of James and Dorothy (Jones) Carlberg. He graduated from North High School.

Michael enjoyed motorcycles and old cars, listening to old rock and roll, fishing and camping. But, most of all, he loved to spend time with friends and family.

Survivors include his father, James Carlberg of Sioux City; a brother, Jim Carlberg of Sioux City; three nephews, Ricky and Travis Carlberg and Jim Ringler; a niece, Missy Ringler; a brother-in-law, Jeff Jasman; three great-nephews, Jaryn, Anthony and Thomas; a great-niece, Elizabeth; and a dear friend, Todd Erdmann.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; a sister, Renee Keleher; a nephew, Tyler Carlberg; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Carlberg.
