Alice M Callendar

Alice Mae Callendar, 78, of Sioux City died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Alice was born July 8, 1927, in Elmo, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Fern (Riley) Livengood. She graduated from Castana (Iowa) High School. She had lived most of her adult life in Sioux City

She married Loren Callendar on Nov. 3, 1945, in Onawa, Iowa. Loren died Jan. 10, 1996, in Sioux City. She worked for American Poultry Co.

She was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church, Swifts Retiree Club and the Siouxland Senior Center. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include four children, Sharon and her husband, Gerald Cook of Sioux City, Larry Callendar of Sioux City, Sandra and her husband, Jerry Kilberg of Sioux City and Vicki and her husband, Dean Frederick of Sioux City; a brother, Earl Livengood of Sioux City; four sisters, Irene Hanson and Lucille Nelson, both of Concord, Neb., Leora Claus of Solvang, Calif., and Iva Moore of Onawa, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loren; a sister, Phyllis Helder; and a great-granddaughter, Keri Callendar.

Pallbearers will be Larry Callendar, Tom Harms, Jerry Kilberg, Dean Frederick, Jeremy Kilberg and Gary Cook.
