Virginia A. Cain, 70, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson, Iowa. Virginia was born March 31, 1938, in Sioux City, to William and Lucretia (Howard) Kucera. She married Milton J. Cain on Dec. 11, 1953, in South Sioux City. Virginia was a housewife and had also worked from home for Weller Fish and Tackle.
She was a member of Woodbury County Gemology Society. She had also served as a Cub Scout den mother and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her children. She enjoyed genealogy, baking, collecting elephants and taking car rides.
Survivors include her husband, Milton of Sioux City; a son, Terry Cain of Sioux City; a daughter, Lucretia Baumgardner and husband, Donald of Pierson, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Ben Cain, Nick Cain, Amanda Cain, Mindy Thompson, Desiree Davis, Tiffany Baumgardner, Hunter Baumgardner and Montana Baumgardner; and nine great-grandchildren, Mariah, Quentin, Ariel, Bree, Derian, Phoenix, Daniel, Keradi and Dylan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Milton "Don" William Cain.
