Loretta B. Cain, 93, of South Sioux City died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Regency Square Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. Dan Doran officiating. Burial will be in Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Cain was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Rodney, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Lizzie (Griffith) Raab. She graduated from Whiting (Iowa) High School.
She married Myrvin Cain on March 7, 1934, in Dakota City. He passed away Oct. 14, 1994, in South Sioux City. She was the director of Child Evangelism Fellowship for Siouxland from 1965 to 1979.
Her life revolved around her church, kids and grandkids. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church, where she was very involved for more than 60 years.
Survivors include three sons, LaVerne W. (Martha) Cain of Amelia Island, Fla., Kenneth A. (Patricia) Cain of Sioux City and Bernie E. (Janice) Cain of South Sioux City; a daughter, Jeanette Y. (Phillip) McNaughton of Vermillion, S.D.; a sister, Juanita (Jack) Cook of Sergeant Bluff; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son in infancy, Myrvin F. Cain Jr.; a brother, Wallace Raab; and a sister, Corletta Reinhold.
