Carol A. Cadwell, 71, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will then begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carol was born September 29, 1935 in Sioux City to Peter and Astrid (Kvidal) Nelson. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Central High School. On November 27, 1954, she married Richard E. Cadwell in Sioux City. Carol was a homemaker until 1972, when she began working at Knapp-Spencer until it was closed in 1980. She then began working at Sioux City Bakery and then IBP cafeteria until 1995 when she retired. Carol instructed ceramics at the Crittenton Center for many years, she also did ceramics out of her home. Carol was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for many years. She loved her family and friends, but most of all being a grandma.
Carol is survived by her children: David Cadwell and wife Rebecca of Panama City, FL; Colleen Grell and husband Tim of Chalfont, PA; Duane Cadwell of Lincoln, NE; and Donald Cadwell and his wife Leann of Oakley, KS; grandchildren; Chris, Justin, Elizabeth, Amanda, Steven, Ethan, Shelby and Richard. A brother, Edward Nelson and his wife Judy of Sioux City, IA; and a sister, Pearl Hillrichs and her husband Marlin of San Antonio, TX. A sister-in-law Mary Cadwell of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Richard in 1993 and 3 infant sons.
