SIOUX CITY -- Eugene W. Burright, 81 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Douglas Collins as officiant. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present beginning at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Eugene was born on Aug. 28, 1928. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 until 1947, having served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington cv.16 and the light cruiser Biloxi. Eugene was area manager for Guardsman Security Service, attaining the rank of captain for a number of years. He also worked for Herzoff Music Company for 15 years, Farner-Bocken Company, and Sioux Tools. He retired in 1982.
Eugene was an avid golfer, spending most of his retirement years on a golf course. He also liked fishing and bowling. Eugene was devoted to his family and to Jesus Christ, with whom he now resides.
Eugene is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Beverly J. Burright of Sioux City; son, Dan Burright and his wife, Betty of Sioux City; daughter, Luann Lamoreux and her husband, Pat of Des Moines; sister, Betty Camerer of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
