Terry Lee Burns

Terry Lee Burns, age 59 of Seguin, Texas, formerly of Newcastle, Nebraska passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle, Nebr. with Rev. David Liewer officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Terry was born on April 20, 1951 in Laurel, Nebraska to Adrian Seth and Emma Marie (Berg) Burns. He grew up in Obert, Nebraska and was a 1969 graduate of Kelbert High School. He attended the University of Nebraska in 1970 where he studied mechanical engineering. Terry graduated from South East Community College in 1971 with a specialty as a manufacturing technician. He was a self taught electrician and later became a master electrician where he was licensed in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Terry was a member of the South Sioux Eagles and South Sioux Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge #112.

Survivors include his daughter, Kari Ann Burns and partner Debra Lara; son, Scott J. Burns and wife Faith; grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Sawyer and Makayla and Annalicia Burns; brothers, Gary Burns and wife Linda, Keith Burns and wife Ann; sister, Doreen Dunnihoo; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Burns, Mike Weaver, Gary Hoblit, Larry Brostad, Bob Oglevie and Mike Hans.
