Carol Ann Burns

NEWCASTLE, Neb. -- Carol Ann Burns, 58, of Seguin, Texas, formerly of Newcastle, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. David Liewer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle. Visitation with the family will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will resume 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Carol was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Sioux City, to Floyd and Marie (Pfister) Bernard. She grew up in Newcastle and was a 1970 graduate of Newcastle High School. She completed business school at Grand Island School of Business in Nebraska.

Survivors include her loving husband, Terry Lee Burns; a daughter, Kari Ann Burns and partner, Debra Lara; a son, Gunnery Sgt. Scott J. Burns, USMC, and wife, Faith; grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Sawyer and Makayla and Annalicia Burns; dear friends, Bob and Lilly Oglevie, Larry and Linda Brostad, Mike and Pam Weaver and Dan and Carolyn Viers; and many other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Larry Brostad, Mike Weaver, Mike Hans, Gary Hoblit, Bob Oglevie and Gary Burns. Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Burns.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of the donor's choice.
