SIOUX CITY -- Elizabeth "Ann" Burke, 83, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at her residence.
Private family services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Ann was born Wednesday, July 8, 1925, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of George and Agnes (Gilles) Houlihan.
She married Donald F. Burke on June 14, 1947, in Sioux City. Donald passed away Dec. 25, 1977, in Sioux City. She spent her life as a homemaker.
She loved gardening and was an avid sports fan. She treasured being with her family, especially spending time with her caring grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Mark Burke and his wife, Mickie of Sioux City; two grandsons, Brett Burke and Kyle Burke and his special friend, Mollie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Pallbearers will be Brett Burke, Kyle Burke, Chad Stevenson, Tyler Cleveland, Alex Swain and Bob Haines.
