SIOUX CITY -- Julie L. Bulit, 51, of Sioux City died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at her residence following a lengthy courageous battle with melanoma.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Julie was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clyde and Priscilla (Shewry) Kirchner. She graduated from East High School in 1976.

She married Robert B. Bulit on Jan. 1, 1987, in Sioux City. She was a child care provider and worked in the Washington Elementary School cafeteria for 12 years.

Her family was most important to her. She enjoyed real estate, remodeling, craft projects, camping and especially fishing.

Survivors include her husband, Robert B. Bulit of Sioux City; four children, Carrie and her husband, GT Stepp of Elk Point, S.D., Connie and her husband, Brent Magnusson of Liberty, Mo., Cortney and her husband, Jesse Atchley of Great Falls, Mont., and John Bulit and his wife, Christi of Denison, Iowa; her mother, Priscilla Howard of South Sioux City; two sisters and a brother, Bev and her husband, John McPherson of South Sioux City, Danny Kirchner of Hot Springs, S.D., and Laurel and her husband, Ron Berg of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Ashlee and Kacie Stepp, Evan and Blake Magnusson, Colton, Christopher and Carson Atchley and Isaac Young; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde; a brother, John Kirchner; her mother and father-in-law, Arlene and William Bulit; and her stepfather, Chuck Howard.

Pallbearers will be Bob Phillips, Terry Thiele, Randy Olsen, Mark Lippert, Jim McClusky and Brandon Bulit. Honorary pallbearers will be GT Stepp, Brent Magnusson, Jesse Atchley and Keith Hogan.
