SIOUX CITY -- Nettie E. Budde, 88, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Sheldon, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Nettie was born Tuesday, March 1, 1921, in Sheldon, Iowa, the daughter of Kyrn and Florence (Talsma) Lagendyk. She attended schools in Sheldon. She received her nurse's aide certification and worked at various nursing homes in Sioux City.

She married Marvin J. Budde on Sept. 16, 1940, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon. Marvin passed on March 4, 1976.

Survivors include three sons, Theodore "Sonny" (Mina) Budde of Nuevo, Calif., David Budde of Sioux City and Marvin (Pam) Budde of Gainsville, Ga.; three daughters, Barbara (Norman) Focht of Sioux City, Linda (Randy) Morrical of Sioux City and Suzann (Jeff) Van Den Einde of Willmar, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, Lisa, Jeff, Laurie, Heather, Annette, Clint, Lance, Chad, Kim, Linn, Matt, Cory, Jenna, Jessica and Ellie; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and good friends, Myrna, Rosemary and Evonne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Clinton R. Focht.
