Lena K. Bucchino

SIOUX CITY -- Lena K. Bucchino, 92, of Littleton, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colo., following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Church of the Nativity in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Lena was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Nellie Dorashkevich. She married Frank Bucchino on Sept. 5, 1942, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Church of the Nativity and Confraternity. She also volunteered at Marian Health Center for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Frank of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Karen and her husband, Tim Parker of Littleton; two grandchildren, Jason and Aaron Parker; a great-grandson, Austin Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sisters.
