Aileen G. Bruno

SIOUX CITY -- Aileen G. Bruno, 86, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Hanneman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Aileen was born March 31, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Kvidahl) Bloom. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School.

She married Samuel Bruno on Jan. 2, 1946, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2009. She worked for Interbake until her retirement.

She enjoyed the couple's trips to Las Vegas, Nev. and loved spending time with family.

Survivors include her late daughter's (Nancy) children, Shannon Christensen of Sergeant Bluff and Shane Christensen of Sioux City; a son, Gary Bruno and his wife, Susan of LaMoore, Calif.; and Gary's children, Christina, Jackie and Sara; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; her parents; her daughter, Nancy Christensen; and two sisters, Ruth and Claire.
