Margaret Elizabeth Peggy Brunkhorst, 71 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Touch Stone Living Center. Per Margarets wishes her body was cremated and there will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Gordon Quitt officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Peggy was born March 23, 1938 in Lake City, MN to Raymond and Margaret (Burch) Parrott. She attended school in Lake City, MN. She was married to Philip J. Brunkhorst on July 23, 1960 in Lake City, MN. Margaret and her family settled in Sioux City in 1973.

She was a nurses aide and a teachers aide before helping build the family business, Elastomer Engineering, Inc., in Sioux City and working there until her retirement. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and friends. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Vikings fan. After retirement she enjoyed traveling throughout the world, visiting Rome, Africa, Australia, and Mexico. She was a friend of Bill W. for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband Philip of Sioux City, and three sons, Kevin and Lesa Banks Brunkhorst of Antigonish, Nova Scotia and Westfield, IA; Joseph Brunkhorst of Sioux City; David and Kristine Brunkhorst of Sioux City; grandchildren Michael and Stephen Brunkhorst; sisters Marjorie and Grant Hayes of Duluth, MN, Phyllis and Butch Hanson of Red Wing, MN, and a brother Robert and Marlene Parrott of Lake City, MN, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
