Georgianna "Kate" Britton

Georgianna "Kate" Britton of Kingsley was chosen to take her eternal vacation in paradise Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 Geneva Street, Sioux City, with the Rev. Dr. Floyd E. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Kate was born May 20, 1933, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Lillian (Swift) Colwell.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She knew her Lord and Savior for many years.

The most important things in her life were her children, Russell (Christie) Britton of Graettinger, Iowa, Kitty (Gary) Boggs of Kingsley and Dora (Barry) Koch of Hornick, Iowa; a sister, Ruth Mitchell of Vancouver, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; and a granddaughter.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
