Dorothy Jane Boulden, 78, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
A graveside service will be held to bury Dorothy and her husband Jack on Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at Obert Cemetery in Obert, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Dorothy was born March 20, 1929, to Bert and Anna (Rasmussen) Joslin at her parents' home on their Hartington, Neb., farm. Following her father's death when she was 2 years old, her mother married Donald McCracken.
Dorothy married Jack F. Boulden on May 3, 1946, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed years of activities with her husband in the Abu Bekr Foot Patrol and other Shrine functions. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, who loved the preparation of food and watching others enjoy her efforts.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Jack; and children, Linda Bachand of Sioux Falls, S.D., Kathy Boulden of Elkhorn, Neb., Dennis and his wife, Lynne of Sioux City, Nancy Wheeler of Sioux City, Diane Wicklund and her husband, Gene of Horace, N.D., and David and his wife, Lisa of Lee's Summit, Mo.; grandchildren, Michelle and Sheila Bachand, Sadie Boulden, Margaret Newton, Jackie Wheeler, Ross and John Wicklund and Delaney Boulden; a great-grandson, Ashton Newton; and two brothers and their wives, Chet and Char Joslin of Overland Park, Kan., and Dwight and Berniece Joslin of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; a brother, Byron Joslin; and son, Duane Boulden.
As per her request of no flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital.
