SIOUX CITY -- Maurice E. Boucher, 84, of Sioux City died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Maurice was born July 25, 1926, in Willow City, N.D., the son of Joseph and Amanda (Cote) Boucher. He grew up in North Dakota and serviced in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He served in the South Pacific and received the Purple Heart.

He married Lorraine M. Beckers on July 17, 1948, in Gregory, S.D. She died Jan. 20, 2008, in Sioux City. Maurice worked for Cudahy's Packing Plant, Omar Bakery, Roberts Dairy and then for many years at the U.S. Post Office.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the D.A.V. He did volunteer work for the Food Bank and at the visitors center at the Southern Hills Mall for years. Maurice enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, dancing and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Donohue of Tempe, Ariz., and Ann Choquette and her husband, Ron of Sioux City; a son, Tom Boucher and his wife, Lori of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Ernestine McCulloch and her husband, John of Mesa, Ariz., and Jerry Struble and her husband, Bob of Williamstown, N.J.; one brother, Les Boucher and his wife, Patricia of Boone, Iowa; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas and Michelle Donohue, Melissa Choquette, Breanna and Johnathan Coon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine; an infant brother, Joseph James; a sister, Isabelle; and two brothers, Lloyd and Darrell.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas and Matthew Donohue, Ron Choquette, Mark Stout, Gary Boucher and Jim Boucher.
