Diane L. Boucher

Diane L. Boucher, 70, of Sioux City departed this life Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, surrounded by her family.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to meyerbroschapels.com.

Diane was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Sioux City, the daughter of Earl M. and Edith L. (Oestereich) Miller. She graduated from Central High School in 1957. She then started her employment with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.

On May 12, 1961, she married Darrell A. Boucher in Elk Point, S.D. She continued with Northwestern Bell until the company's closing in 1982. Her husband, Darrell, passed away April 10, 2008, in Sioux City.

She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her greatest joy was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis Boucher and his wife, Sue, James Boucher and Gary Boucher, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Tracy (Boucher) and her husband, Jeffrey Allen of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Geri Scott of Sioux City; and four grandchildren, Gregory and Joseph Boucher and Emily and Sarah Allen.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Denise; and a brother-in-law, Rich Scott.

Pallbearers will be Doug Frahm, Neil Stokes, Warren Baker, Doug Schrad and Jason Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in her name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
