Darrell A. Boucher, 71, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Darrell A. Boucher was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Willow City, N.D., to Joseph and Amanda (Cote) Boucher. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict as a tank driver.

He married Diane Miller on May 12, 1961, in Elk Point, S.D. For years, he worked with his brother at Boucher Masonry and later on, managed Super Wash Car Wash in South Sioux City. He was currently employed at Wilmes Hardware at the Indian Hills Shopping Center.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Spending time with family and grandchildren was of the greatest importance to him. In his free time, he loved to play 5-cent slots in North Sioux City and also enjoyed tinkering with cars.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Boucher of Sioux City; three sons, Dennis and his wife, Sue Boucher, Jim Boucher and Gary Boucher, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Tracy (Boucher) Allen and her husband, Jeffrey Allen of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Gregory and Joseph Boucher and Emily and Sarah Allen; two brothers, Les Boucher and Maurice Boucher; two sisters, Ernestine McCulloch and Germaine Struble; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Boucher; his parents; a sister, Isabelle; two brothers, Lloyd and James Boucher; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Boucher.

Pallbearers will be Doug Frahm, Warren Baker, Doug Schrad, Darloe Janssen, Brian Vakulskas and Mark Wetz. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Gregory and Joseph Boucher and Emily and Sarah Allen.
