Florence A. Boetger

Florence A. Boetger, 79, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at a local hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 1111 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Richard Francis of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Florence was born on July 24, 1927, in Lawton, Iowa, a daughter of Wallace E. and Beulah B. (Parcel) Robinson. She graduated from high school in Lawton.

She married Emil O. Boetger on April 17, 1948, in Ponca, Neb. Emil preceded her in death on June 22, 2000, in Sioux City. The couple resided on Oelwein, Iowa for a brief time, prior to moving to Sioux City. They eventually made their home in Ames, Iowa, until returning to Sioux City in 1969. Florence had been a housekeeper with several local motels in the area throughout the years.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Florence was an avid reader and also loved crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spoiling her dog, "Kisses."

Survivors include a son, Roger Boetger of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Boetger of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Rachel Friehe and Nakiea Boetger, both of Omaha; two brothers and their wives, Dale and Betty Robinson of Moville and Bedford and Donna Robinson of Lawton; three sisters, Jeanne Jones of Cherokee, Iowa, JoAnn Gunsolley of Sioux City and Beverly "Pert" Degen and her husband, Earl of Moville, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane Robinson and Harold "Plush" Robinson; and two sisters, Hattie Jones and Marjorie "Sarge" Nichols.
