Gladys V. Bilunas, 86, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mrs. Bilunas was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Paullina, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Johnson) Wester. She grew up on a farm southwest of Paullina. She graduated from Paullina High School and attended the business school in Sioux City. She worked for a short time for Morningside Lutheran Church and the Chamber of Commerce.
She married Anthony Bilunas on Nov. 19, 1943, in Dakota City. He died April 25, 1989 in Sioux City.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time at Lake Okoboji. She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and the Daughter of the Nile.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Bilunas and his wife, Jo Ann of North Branch, Minn., and Michael Bilunas of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lee of Eagan, Minn., and Matthew Bilunas of Simi Valley, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Madeline of Eagan, Minn., and Samantha and Molly of Simi Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Anthony.
