Paul H. Bertrand, 58, of Elk Point died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Casa de Paz Nursing Home following a brief battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Houts officiating. Private graveside services will be Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Paul was born July 24, 1949, in Sioux City, the son of Hubert and Amelia (Clement) Bertrand. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967.
He married Pattie Lund on June 29, 1972, in Elk Point. To this union a son, Dustin, was born. He worked as a truck driver for Standard Ready Mix for several years. He later worked for North Sioux City Water Department for several years.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to music and cooking ethnic food.
Survivors include his mother, Amelia Bertrand of Jefferson, S.D.; a son, Dustin (Jenny) Bertrand of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Taylor Ann Bertrand of Sioux City; two sisters, Angela Benson of Des Moines and Carol Will and her special friend, Tim Murry of Rapid City, S.D.; and his good friend and ex-wife, Pattie.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Stephen.
