Janet E. Benton

Janet E. Benton, 28 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at a Sioux City Hospital after a 13 month battle with cancer. Funeral services for Janet will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel located at 6200 Morningside Ave. with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Janet was born on March 18, 1981 in Sioux City to Lawrence and Margaret (Place) Sands. She graduated from West High School in 1998. She was married to Samuel Benton on August 9, 2003 in Sioux City. Janet enjoyed keeping a good home and raising her daughter. She loved to bake, cook and decorate.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Benton; daughter Emily Benton; parents Lawrence and Margaret Sands; brother James Sands all of Sioux City; and a sister Lorrianne Rose of Klamath Falls, OR.
