LAWTON, Iowa -- Patricia J. Bennett, 69, of Lawton died from a six-month illness with pancreatic cancer Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Edward Frank officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Patricia was born May 4, 1937, in Sioux City, the daughter of Fred and Esther (Widner) Weigel. She grew up in the Kelly Park area of Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from Central High School in 1956.

She married Robert E. Bennett on May 7, 1956, in Sioux City. She ran the lunch wagon for farm sales for several years. She then worked for Bleil and Chapman Sale Barn, serving food. She owned and operated Mrs. B's Catering Service until she retired at the age of 65.

She was a member of the Genealogical Society and the Garden Club. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Moville, Iowa and the Women's Club. She was an active donor at the Siouxland Community Blood Bank and had donated more than 10 gallons.

Survivors include her husband, Robert of Lawton; two daughters and their husbands, Kathi and Marlin Groth of Moville, Iowa, and Kim and Rick Riherd of Salix, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Jackie and Dale Danielson of Rockford, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Rachelle, Teresa, Rebecca, Christina and Bennett Groth, Molly and Sally Wilson and Jeff Riherd and Jennifer Rand; six great-grandchildren; two nephews, Butch and Jim; and two nieces, Laura and Lisa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Phyllis.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or the Siouxland Hematology and Oncology Center.
