Billy C. Bell, 80, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted by U.S. Army Reserves. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will resume one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Billy was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Sioux City, to Ole C. and Lola E. (Wiltse) Bell. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and received his GED from the U.S. Army. He served our country during World War II in the Army.

He married Mary Eileen Lieurance on April 23, 1951, in Sioux City. Billy worked as a clerk for the Milwaukee Railroad for 22 years, Dividend Bonded Gas as a manager for 21 years, city of Sioux City for eight years and most recently, was self-employed, retiring 10 years ago.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, NAMI and the Democratic Party. Billy enjoyed playing cribbage, gambling, having coffee with special friends, attending church and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Mary Eileen Bell of Sioux City, a son, Tim Bell of Clarinda, Iowa; two daughters, Deborah (Frank) Reifenrath of Gurensey, Wyo. and Theresa (John) Hermes of Gering, Neb.; a sister, Bertie (Charlie) Boyle of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Gisette (Pete) Martinez, Erin (Eric) Jankowski, Megan Reifenrath, Sarah (Justin) Revels, Joy Hermes, Andrew Hermes and Kaitlin Hermes and fiance, Jeremy Fruegching; five great-grandchildren, Kendra, Austin, Brandon, Cameron and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph; a brother, Don; a sister, Bonnie; and a great-grandson, Brayden.
