William C. Beaulieu

November 12, 1932 — September 18, 2006

William C. Beaulieu, 73, of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2006, at the home of his daughter with his family at his side. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bill was born November 12, 1932, to Edwin and Lucile (Trometer) Beaulieu in Sioux City. He attended Central High School and graduated from Morningside College. He married Doris Anderson. They later divorced. He then married Jeanne Machura on May 6, 1961, in Luverne, Minnesota. Bill and his father farmed and ran E.E. Beaulieu Sales and Service. Later, he worked at the Sioux City Stockyards for Johnson and Hempsted Commission Company selling cattle. After several years there, he became employed by Terra Chemicals, where he eventually became safety manager.

In his younger years, Bill was well known in Sioux City as a fast pitch softball pitcher. He was an avid bowler, but later in life golf became his passion, often playing as many as five times a week during the season. In November, he traveled to his home in Phoenix, Arizona, where he would golf away the winter months. Bill also enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with his friends at Gus and Horizons.

Bill is survived by his children: Richard Beaulieu of Sioux City, Kathy Lockey and husband Rod of Milford, IA, Karen Mayrose and husband Doug of Le Mars, IA, Sandy Ferdig and husband Mark of Omaha, NE, Suzy Gordon and husband Dave of Sioux City, and Cindy Kunze and special friend Tony of Sioux City; and 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanne on March 16, 2003, daughter Kim Beaulieu and granddaughter Tammy.
