WHITING, Iowa -- Blanche A. Beauchene O'Neill of Whiting passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Emery Killian officiating. Burial will be in Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Blanche was born Sept. 26, 1909, in Sioux City, the daughter of Charles and Ada (Mott) Peck.

She married Elmer S. Beauchene on Sept. 16, 1927. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1970. She married John H. O'Neill on Jan. 26, 1980 and lived in Sioux City until moving to Whiting. He passed away May 15, 1999.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, growing flowers, raising chickens and playing bingo.

Survivors include four daughters, Dolores Taylor Flynn and her husband, Al of Newbury Park, Calif., Bonnie Hanner and her husband, Melvin of Onawa, Iowa, Shirley Yates and her husband, Maxie of Sioux City and Joyce Van Buskirk of Le Mars, Iowa; a son, Lawrence Beauchene and his wife, Betty of Sloan, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Sharon McKenna and her husband, Dennis of Sioux City; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Bedard of Hawarden, Iowa; her husbands, Elmer S. Beauchene and John H. O'Neill; her parents; five sisters; four brothers; and four grandchildren.
