Le Myers Baumsten

Le Myers Baumsten, 94, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Westside Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Le was born Oct. 22, 1911, in Sioux City, the daughter of Arthur and Mathilda (Steckler) Miller. She graduated from Central High School in 1928.

She married Orville Myers in 1931. Orville preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1949 in Sioux City. Later, she married Larry Baumsten in 1956. Larry preceded her in death on May 13, 1998 in Sioux City. She had been a manager with the Conservative Mortgage Company for several years.

She was an avid golfer and bowler. She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Orville Myers of St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Bordewick of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mary Lyn and her husband, Herb Jacobson of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Mitzi Branca of Arizona; a stepson,. Robert Baumsten of California; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Miller; and a sister, Constance Bateman.
