SIOUX CITY -- Bobby B. Baldridge, 74, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011,at Touchstone Living Center.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Bobby Baldridge was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Paintsville, Ky., to Martin Otto and Lora Mae (Baldridge) Baldridge. He grew up in Paintsville and graduated from high school there. In 1954, he entered the U.S. Air Force. Following his service in 1958, he moved to Minneapolis, Minn., moving to Sioux City in 1974. He received his bachelor of science degree in education in 1974 from St. Cloud (MN) State University and received his master's degree in education in 1982 from the University of South Dakota.
He married Gloria Jean James on Jan. 18, 1971, in Milbank, S.D. Mr. Baldridge taught in the South Sioux City Schools for 12 years, retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria J. Baldridge of Sioux City; and two sons, Dana John Baldridge and his fiancee, Kadi Kobes and Kyle Eugene Baldridge, all of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eugene, Gelain and Martin Otto Jr.; and one sister, Jenny Elizabeth Williamson.
