Michael W. Anderson, Sr.

October 2, 1949 — August 29, 2006

Michael W. Anderson Sr., 56, of Sioux City passed away following a lengthy illness Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of All Nations, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Michael was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Sioux City, the son of Lewie and Dorothy (Blair) Anderson. He attended Sioux City schools.

He married Carrie Johnson. Later, he married Tamara J. Schuldt on Nov. 14, 1987, in Sioux City. He was employed with Irving F. Jensen Construction at one time. Later, he worked at the KD Station and also the Federal Building. More recently, he was employed with Goodwill Industries.

He was a member of the Church of All Nations. He was an avid bicyclist and Cubs fan. He also was a car enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Tamara; two sons, Michael W. Anderson Jr. of Sioux City and Larry L. Johnson of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Lewie and Cheryl Anderson of Germantown, Md.; two sisters and their husbands, Doris and Jerry Lindgren of Sergeant Bluff and Linda and Edward McMahan of Emerson, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Trudy Anderson of Sioux City; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his special companions, "Sammy," "Hunter," "Rusty" and "Bandit."

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his stepfather, Winfred Wingert.

Pallbearers will be Jim Johnson, Terry Johnson, Keith Johnson, Michael Bush, Verlyn Schuldt and Ronnie Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph McMahan, Michael McMahan, Wesley Newton, Robert Newton Jr. and Lewie Anderson Jr.
