Vivian G. Anderson, 82, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Countryside Retirement Home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Augustana Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mrs. Anderson was born July 16, 1924, in Hinton, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Anna (Ulven) Winters. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, S.D.
She married Clarence W. Anderson on Oct. 9, 1943, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, where she was a member of Piece Corps quilting group. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, flowers, gardening and white poodles. She loved to travel and was a good cook. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Anderson of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Dianne and Gary Clemon of Newton, Iowa, and Carol and Gayle Vollmer of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother and his wife, Gary and Mary Winters of Sergeant Bluff; four sisters and husbands, Opal and Lawrence Brewer of Elk Point, S.D., Maxine and Chester Sherrard of Davenport, Fla., Nancy VanMeter of Sioux City and Dorothy and David Stewart of South Sioux City; four grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Scott Thomsen, Jeff Clemon and his wife, Karin, Alison Vollmer and Amber Vollmer; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry; a son in infancy, Charles; two sisters, Delores Martinez and Bonnie Bouck; and a grandson, Matt.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses.
