Dale H. Anderson formerly of Sioux City passed away peacefully Sunday, July 13, 2008, in Wichita, Kan.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Tony Nester officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Dale was born April 20, 1926, in Sioux City, to his parents, Victor and Bess Anderson. He graduated from East High School and the University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. After active duty, he remained in the Army National Guard and retired as a major. He lived in California for a number of years, where he retired after working for Northwestern and Pacific Bell as an auditor and computer programmer. He had lived in Salinas, Calif., then moved to Wichita, Kan., in 2005.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, Dr. Tom Bloxham and his wife, Betsy, who so lovingly looked after Dale while he lived in Wichita, Jerrine Hennessy of Omaha, Joan Hilts of Omaha, Jean Hart of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kay Tabscott of St. Louis, Mo., Ken Lewis of Olomouc, Czech Republic, Scott Sanford of Sioux City and their families; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Bess Anderson; a brother, Jerrold Anderson; and sisters, Dorothy Reback, Meredith Lewis, Carol Abbey, Bonnie Bloxham and Adeline Sanford.
