SIOUX CITY -- Delores June Andersen, 78, of Sioux City passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Delores was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Sioux City, to Peter E. and Hannah C. (Granning) Hovland. Delores graduated from East High School. She married Henrich E. Andersen on Dec. 30, 1954, in Sioux City. Henrich passed away Aug. 24, 1988, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Delores loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very special lady who loved to do anything social. Delores loved to go for rides, sing and go shopping at Target. She also enjoyed going to lunch, then getting her hair and nails done. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Delores is survived by a son, William Andersen of Sioux City; four daughters, Debbie Angarman and her husband, Tim of Sioux City, Tami Angarman and her husband, Mike of Sioux City, Sandy Anderson and her husband, Loyd of Sioux City, and Terri Scott and her husband, Jesse of Dakota Dunes; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Timmy and his fiancee, Alicia and Nick Angarman, Westley Angarman, Casey, Samantha, Taylor and Brady Burkhart and Joseph and Samuel Anderson; three stepgrandchildren, Grace, Miles and Nicholas Scott; two great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Madilyn Angarman; and a brother-in-law, Harlan Andersen and his wife, Marge of Mitchell, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Nancy Jo; five brothers; and a sister.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delores' grandsons.
