Kenneth R. Alderson, Sr.

Kenneth R. Alderson Sr., 79, of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2006 in Sioux City. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial of ashes will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors to follow.

Kenneth was born January 20, 1927 in Sebestopol, CA: to Ellis and Edith Alderson. He grew up and attended school in California. Kenneth enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1944 and served 22 years. He retired in 1967. On December 31, 1953, he married Dorothy Domina in Forestville, CA, having met through Pen Pal letters. They couple moved to Sioux City in 1966. Kenneth worked at Sioux Tools from Aug, 1967 until he retired again in 1989. Kenneth also worked out of his home where he worked on lawn mowers. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son: Ken Jr. and his wife Connie Alderson both of Sioux City, 4 daughters: Gayle Flowers and her husband Wallace of Virginia, Margaret Miller and her husband Leonard, Evelyn Pippitt and her husband Joe, Twila Warren and her husband Tim all of Sioux City, Iowa. 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and another due in March. 1 sister Mary Taylor and her husband Gale, 1 brother Russell Alderson, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother and father-in-law, Clifton and Lillie Domina, Sister-in-law LaDonna Rowell and Brother-in-law Clifton Domina.
