Iva L. Alberts

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Iva L. Alberts, 98, of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Regency Square Assisted Living.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Matthew Miller officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date in Coleridge, Neb.

Iva was born Sept. 15, 1911, in Rodney, Iowa, to Henry and Emma (Clay) Bruneau. Iva had lived in Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska for most of her life. She married Russell Alberts on April 17, 1930, in Chicago, Ill. Russell passed away in 1977.

Iva is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Tom) Renner of Otoe, Neb., and Lynda (Fabian) Trudeau of Jefferson, S.D.; 13 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Ron Alberts; daughter, Phyllis Kruithoff; grandson, John Koester; nine brothers; and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be Fabian Trudeau, CJ Koester, Frank Koester, Colby Burnight, Duane Wichman and Ryan Border.

Memorials may be directed in Iva's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
