Alfred D. Ahrnkiel, Sr.

November 14, 1947 — September 19, 2009

Alfred D. Ahrnkiel, Sr., 61 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday September 19, 2009 at a Sioux City Hospital. Per his wishes, Alfreds body was cremated and memorial services for Alfred will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. There will be no visitation. Burial of his cremains will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Alfred was born on November 14, 1947 in Sioux City to James Everett and Viola (Kinnaman) Ferdig. He was later adopted by his grandparents Theodore and Agnes Ahrnkiel. He spent his working years Washington working the ship yards. He was married to Linda Morgan. The marriage later ended in divorce. Alfred loved to go fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying time with his family, especially his time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alfred is survived by his 5 children Richard (Heidi) Ahrnkiel of Sioux City; Melissa Tiemann of Seattle, WA; Alfred Ahrnkiel, Jr. of Everett, WA; Theodore Ahrnkiel of Washington; and Alfreda Spear of Alaska; 11 grandchildren Jose, Lorena, Krystal, Israel, Shy, Brandon, Kendra, Nicholas, Maria, Jalyn, and Krystal; 13 siblings Jerry Kinnaman of Yelm, WA; Norma Cooper of Luton; Gloria Richards of Sioux City; Donna Baird of Sioux City; Beverly Brown of Myrtle Creek, OR; Roger Ahrnkiel of Maple Valley, WA; Diana Crosgrove of Sioux City; Marsha Lanegan of Sioux City; Cheryl Crane of Raineer, WA; Arlene Deborde of Maple Valley, WA; Carol Repnik of Paulson, MT; Rhonda Mandlin of Maple Valley, WA; and Kevin Lanegan of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his by his grandparents and parents, wife Cindy Noble, 3 brothers Ray Kinnaman, Oliver Kinnaman, and Larry Lanegan, and 1 sister Nancy Schultz.
