Delores I. (Klave) Dreeszen

Delores I. (Klave) Dreeszen, 80, of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, entering into eternal life with Jesus and family present.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa. Delores was born to Fred and Margaret "Maggie" (Jans) Onnen in rural Akron on June 28, 1929. She attended Akron area schools. She married Harold "Shorty" Klave on Jan. 19, 1946, in Sioux City. After farming in rural Akron, they moved to Sioux City in 1955. Delores was a homemaker for several years before working at St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years, becoming manager of the linen room. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech and became an over-the-road truck driver, working for Hirschbach Trucking Lines.

After marrying Marvin Dreeszen on Oct. 29, 1979, she worked at Metz Baking Thrift Store in South Sioux City until her retirement in 1991. After retirement, she assisted the management of her residence, South Park Apartments in South Sioux City. She always had an immaculate home and also enjoyed gardening and especially flowers.

Delores is survived by one daughter, Shelia (Gary) Petz of Elk Point, S.D.; one granddaughter, Kari (Tony) Butcher of Sioux City; one great-granddaughter, Emilee Ann Butcher of Sioux City; two sisters, Millie Lawrence of Sioux City, and Stella (Les) McConahie of Montague, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; a special granddaughter, Stacey Kitto; a special great-granddaughter, Sophia Kitto; and special friends, Betty Kluver and Jeanne "Charlie" Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Walt Onnen; two sisters, Betty Kluender and Norma Miller; and two infant brothers.
