Adolph G. Yudka, 79, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Majestic Bluffs Care Center in Yankton, SD.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Peggy McClain officiating and military rites by the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 3, 2016, with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service on Monday.Adolph was born on December 20, 1936 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Adolph and Marie (DenHartog) Yudka. He was raised in the South Bottoms area of Sioux City. He attended Heelan High School. He played on Sioux City's semi-pro hockey league. Adolph entered the U.S. Army January 4, 1955 and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1957. After the service he attended college in Vermillion. He married Patricia Helt on January 12, 1963 in Sioux City, IA. To this union six children were born. The couple continued to live in Sioux City and Adolph worked in the floor covering business. He owned and operated A & A Industrial Floor Coatings for thirty years until his retirement.He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved "Sunday Family Day", cooking, dancing, singing, fishing, bowling, and he was an avid reader.Survivors include his wife, Patricia Yudka; children, Synthia Crooks and her significant other, Kendall Rickett, Geraldine (Tom) Haffke of Council Bluffs, IA, Adam Yudka, Marie Yudka and her significant other, Adam Christoffel, Tina Yudka-Hetzel and her husband, Byron, Jessie Yudka and her significant other, Sean Lakes; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jared and Jason Miller, Jordan Kennedy, Patience and Lucas Andresen, Chloe Larson, Bam and Tavia Hetzel, Sophia Yudka, Ian Hansen, Izabelle Yudka, Cecilia Knudson and Lexi Rees; one sister, Patricia Funkhouser of Spokane, WA; many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law; and close family friends Dan Snook and Nakiea Boetger.Adolph was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Marie Yudka; brothers, Roger and Richard Yudka; and brother-in-law, Rex Funkhouser.
