Alan "Al" L. Todd

Alan L. "Al" Todd, 75, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at a Sioux City hospital.Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin one hour prior to the service.Al was born July 12, 1941 in Sioux City, IA. His parents were John and Mary (Mackey) Todd. He graduated in 1959 from South Sioux City High School. He participated in sports and especially football. After graduation his work was varied, and he spent many years in construction, concrete work in particular. He then worked at W.I.T. in the maintenance department until his retirement.In his younger years he spent many happy hours goose hunting or spoonbill fishing with his friends. Husker football was his passion and he was the "go to" guy if you had a question about the team. In his retirement he visited often with friends Jerry Kingston, Ron and Kathy Lindgren and Larry Kayl. He enjoyed going to HyVee to meet with his 1959 classmates for the Tuesday morning "meeting". His neighbors for many years, Don and Gail Ryder and family were like family to him.Al is survived by his sister, Carol Guillaume of Amarillo, TX; brother, Lyle Todd of South Sioux City, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He was close to nieces, Maralyn Grimoskas and Rita Schlotman of Sioux City and nephews Loy Todd of Lincoln, NE and Eric Todd of Corcoran, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Todd; his sisters, Mercedes Allen, Marcella Blair, Ramona Danner, Marjorie Nordgren, Regina Ashleman and Donna Dygert; and brothers, Armon and Bob Todd.Al was a good brother, and a good friend to all that knew him.
