Alice A. Beach, 80, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City with Father Michael Keating, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel (1431 W. 29th Street) in South Sioux City. There will be a Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7 p.m.
Alice Ann, the daughter of Albert and Rosa (Rupiper) Heimes, was born September 9, 1939, on a farm near Hartington. Alice attended country school then attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Hartington. She graduated with the Class of 1957. Following high school, she remained in the Hartington area for a short time then moved to Omaha. She worked as a secretary for Woodman of the World Insurance Company in Omaha until moving to Sioux City.
After moving to Sioux City, she met and was united in marriage to Donald L. Beach on November 18, 1972 in Bow Valley, NE. This union was blessed with three children. In 1974, the family moved to South Sioux City to make their home.
Alice was a very crafty person with her main hobby being ceramics. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Alice was an advocate for Pro-Life.
She is survived by her husband Don of South Sioux City; their three children and families: Doug (Dana) Beach of Dakota City, NE and their children Theresa (Brice) Johnson, Michael, Dominic, Anastasia and Alexandria; Larry (Kelli) Beach of Sergeant Bluff, IA and their children Madison, Julie and Zachary; and Sheila (Robert) Pithan of South Sioux City and their children Destiny, Anthony and Donovan; one great grandson Elijah; one daughter and her children: Susie Mitchell of Urbandale, IA and her sons Cameron and Crayton; one sister Alberta Hall of Dakota Dunes, SD; three brothers: Allan (Julie) Heimes of Mesa, AZ, Alton (Sharon) Heimes of Hartington, NE and Roman (Janice) Heimes of Wynot, NE; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law Howard Hall.
