Alice Mae Carlson

Alice Mae Carlson of Sioux City, died January 20, 2021 at a Sioux City hospital.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  There will be no visitation.  Private services will be held at a later date, and burial will be at the Medlin Trophy Club Cemetery in Roanoke, Texas.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Mrs. Carlson attended Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High in 1939.  She was formerly employed by the Woodbury County Motor Vehicle Department and retired in 1981 from the Iowa Department of Revenue following a 25-year career.

She married Ray Carlson on June 30, 1949.  She and Ray both retired from the Iowa Department of Revenue in 1981.  Following their retirement, they moved to Grapevine, Texas.  Mr. Carlson died March 3, 1982 and Alice returned to Sioux City in 1983.  She welcomed all she met to “stop in for a cup of tea”.  She actively followed politics throughout her life and never missed a vote.

Survivors include a sister-in-law Marge Jewell of Liverpool, NY, and many dear and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Harold and Dale.
