Alice M. Knutson

Alice M. Knutson, 84, of South Sioux City passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at a local hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel in South Sioux City. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Alice was born on May 2, 1937 in Sioux City to Guy and Ruby (Clark) Macklem. She lived in Nebraska until 1976 when she moved to Illinois. She moved back to Nebraska in 2018. On September 4, 1954 she married Paul Knutson in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Alice was a homemaker, and took immense pride in raising her children and taking care of the family home.

She enjoyed gardening, painting, and cooking. You never left her house hungry. Her children and her family were her greatest love!

Alice is survived by her children: Vicky (Rick) Carney of South Sioux City, NE; Brian (Vicky) Knutson of Spring Valley, IL; and Amber Knutson of Cedar Point, IL; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Edna (Jerry) Diller; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Knutson; her parents; her daughter, Julie Knutson Falletti; a brother, Adrian Macklem; and four sisters: Madelyn, Faye, Leora, and Bernetta.
