Alvaretta Marie Schneider

Alvaretta Marie Schneider, 81, of Omaha, NE formerly of Sioux City, IA and North Platte , NE passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at a local care center.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Alvaretta was born February 19, 1937 in North Platte, Nebraska, the daughter of Felix Ray and Marquisce (Mahaffey) Looney.  She graduated from North Platte High School. 

Alvaretta married Earnie Shellie Schneider on November 14, 1956 in North Platte.  To this union, a daughter Kris was born. Earnie preceded her in death on June 16, 1995 in Omaha, Nebraska.  Alvaretta worked as a telephone operator for a short time after the couple was first married.  She enjoyed her time as a volunteer for the Omaha Humane Society Auxiliary for over 15 years.  Alvaretta loved her animals and flower garden, but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family.

Alvaretta is survived by her daughter Kris (Tim) DeWolf of Sioux City; grandchildren:  Justin (Meagan) DeWolf, Mellissa Wertz, and Jeremiah DeWolf (Andy Seuthsy); great grandchildren:  Alexa, Lily, Olivia, Hailey, Emiley, Allie, and Jaysiene; and by her cat Trouble.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
