Amy Jo Custer, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at the age of 56 on Thursday October 3, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska, after bravely battling cancer. Amy, the daughter of Kenneth N. and Betty A. (Bishop) Foster, was born on May 16, 1968, in Sioux City, Iowa. Amy's life was a testament to kindness and resilience.

A graduate of West High School in 1986, Amy pursued further education at Morningside College, where she laid the groundwork for a life dedicated to service and support. Her career showcased her unwavering commitment to others. Throughout the years, she worked as a pharmacy technician at Walmart, served as a church secretary at Crescent Park, and found genuine joy working with children at Beyond the Bell. Most recently, she worked as a job coach at Goodwill Of The Great Plains.

 On July 25, 1997, Amy was united in marriage to Terry L. Custer in Elk Point, South Dakota.

 Amy's devotion extended beyond her professional life; she was the cornerstone of her family, exemplifying what it meant to be selfless and giving. She was the rock for many, offering unwavering support and inspiration. Her warmth and compassion brought joy to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

 In addition to her career, Amy held strong to her passions. She loved reading, writing, and watching movies. A member of Crescent Park Global Methodist Church, she generously gave her time to help with Vacation Bible School, sharing her love of learning and faith with the younger generations. Throughout the years, she cherished the companionship of her pets.

 Amy leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her mother, Betty Foster of Sioux City; her devoted husband, Terry Custer of Sioux City; and her beloved children, Danielle (Ryan) Janke of Orchard, NE, Zackary Miller, Tara Custer, Justina Custer, and Nolan Custer, all of Sioux City. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Brayden, August, Journie, Luke, Jesalyn, and Jackson, who brought light to her life. Amy is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl Sikma and Dianne Foster of Sioux City, and Mark (Melanie) Foster of Fonda, IA, along with her lifelong friend, Renee Heath of Sioux City, and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she will be missed by her pets Poppy, Lola, and Kiki.

 Preceding her in death are her father, Kenneth Foster, and her brother, Jeff Foster, who will greet her with open arms in eternal peace.

 A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 12, 2024, at Crescent Park Global Methodist Church, where family and friends will gather to share memories of a remarkable woman who touched countless lives. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
