Barbara J. Small, 87 of Sioux City was called home into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 6, 2022 following complications from a recent fall. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6220 Morningside Ave.). Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Barb was born May 18, 1935 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Edwin and Ruth (Malm) Comstock. Barb grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School. On February 1, 1953, Barb married Don Small in Sioux City; he passed away January 23, 2017 in Sioux City. Barb worked at Tollers Drug Store, the Sioux City Boat Club for many years, the Folk Art Magazine and then H & S Media until her retirement. Barb and Don enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved their yearly trips to the Colorado mountains. Barb was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing with the church choir, Treble Clef Singers and harmonizing with her daughter while Robin played guitar. Barb loved her family dearly and time with her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was a sweet, kind hearted, devoted wife and mother with a God given gift of loving unconditionally. And, oh how she loved nature, feeding the deer and all her critters. Barb brought warmth and joy to everyone in her life and loved Jesus with all her heart. Survivors include her son Dusty Small (Mary), her daughter Robin Small; her daughter in law: Barb Small all of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and her fur baby grandkids at home: Coco & Tigger. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don and her son Rick Small and her fur-baby Sugar.
