Reverend Barbara Lucille (Coil) Widner of Sioux City, Iowa passed away on December 27, 2021 at the age of 62. A Celebration of Life service will be held at CrossPointe Church located at 2300 W. 19th on Saturday January 1st at 2:00 PM.
Barb was born on March 30, 1959 to John & Lucille (Stading) Coil in Sioux City, IA. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from West High School. She earned her Reverend Accreditation from Global University of the Assemblies of God.
Barb married Dean Widner in 1980 and they have 3 daughters; Rachel, Leah and Sarah. Barb worked at New Perspectives, Inc. for over 15 years and she had a passion and gift for working with people with special needs. She will be missed deeply by her clients.
Barb was a woman strong in her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was involved in her church and in other ministries. She had an evangelistic gifting and loved leading people to the Lord. She volunteered for many missionary trips overseas and women’s out reaches all over the country. She was a gifted intercessory prayer warrior and saw the need to be in the community and spoke prophetically into many people’s lives.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister-in-law Olivia Coil. She is survived by her brother Gary (Sharon) Coil from Casa Grande, AZ and her 3 daughters: Rachel Espinoza (Edgar) of Rio Grande City, TX, Leah Widner of Harlingen, TX and Sarah Widner of Monument, CO, and four beautiful granddaughters.
