Bernard J. Adams

Bernard J. Adams, 87, of Ponca, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 26, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponca.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. with vigil at 4:00 P.M. all held at the church.  Burial will be at South Creek Cemetery.  

Bernard was born the son of Clarence and Mary (Fitzgerald) Adams on April 19, 1934 in Ponca, Nebraska.  He graduated from Ponca High School and then honorably served his country in the United States Army.  Bernard married Kathy Haglund.  They made their home in Ponca for many years.

Bernard worked construction for Leonard Gill for 40 years.  He will be fondly remembered as a very hard worker, always dependable and loyal. 

Bernard enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and hunting.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Adams of Ponca; children, Julie (Allen Gabel) Adams of Lincoln, Brenda (Pat) McCoy of Omaha, and Bernard (Penny) Adams of Virginia; grandchildren, Randee (Joe Franklin) Long, Christian (Brandy) Thompson, Justin (Kassi) Adams, Amanda (Mark) Lenick, and Kimberly (Bubba) Kirkley; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; one sister; and grandson, Greg Brown.
