Betty A. Aufenkamp

Betty A. Aufenkamp, 89, of Sioux City, formerly of Nebraska, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at a Sioux City nursing facility. No services are planned at this time. Betty was born March 29, 1931 in Hebron, NE, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Merritt) Hill. She began her teaching career in a one room school house. She was passionate about teaching and had a long and distinguished career. She was a life-long member of Kappa Kappa Iota and held the position of National President. Betty married Charles Aufenkamp on June 6, 1954 in Tecumseh, NE, to this union 3 children were born. Her Lutheran faith was strong.

Those left to honor her memory are her son, Paul (Sheryl) Aufenkamp of Hudson, WI; grandchildren Brittany Lesline, Pheobe Wheeler, Shelby Aufenkamp, Austin Aufenkamp; and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughters Peggy Wheeler and Linda Conolly.
