June 22, 1939 — January 2, 2021

Betty L. Ingalls, 81 of Sioux City, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with family present at 6:00 with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 pm at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.). Funeral Services are scheduled Saturday, January 9,2021 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Betty was born June 22, 1939 in Fordyce, Nebraska, the daughter of Ervin J. and Marie F. Ruger.  She attended Coleridge High School and Western Iowa Technical Community College. She was united in marriage with Loran H. Ingalls on October 13, 1958, in Elk Point, South Dakota. Loran and Betty enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage and resided in Sioux City, Sergeant Bluff and retired in Temple, Texas. They were both members of The Church of All Nations. Betty enjoyed a 35-year career at Mercy Medical Center.  During her retirement she enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Betty will be greatly missed and cherished by her family, her four sons; Douglas Ingalls of Melvin, Iowa, Russell Ingalls (Connie Kahler), Michael Ingalls and wife Kristel, and Ronald Ingalls, all of Sioux City, and her three daughters, Vicki Stewart (Roger Broveak) of Sioux City, Tracey Ingalls (Brian Callahan) of Yorba Linda, California, Michele Hermann and husband Thomas of Sioux City, and thirteen grandchildren, John Stewart and Jacob Ingalls, of Sioux City, Anthony Miller and wife Jessica of Fallbrook, CA, Brittni Acosta and husband Stephen of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, James Berg of Pasadena, MD, Michaela Marion and husband Michael of Omaha, NE, Monika Ingalls of Sioux City, Sarah Swearingen and husband Ryan of Sioux City, Ryan Ingalls and wife Shi-Yue (Shee-way) of Shanghai, China, Megan Greigg and husband Peter of Sioux City, Tommy Hermann (Sydney McManamy) of Sioux City, Derrick Combs (Jacob Lushinsky) of Omaha, NE, Chase Mohr (Megan Mote) of Sioux City, Charity Mohr (Jeremy Peplinski) of Sioux City, and fifteen great grandchildren: Forest and Charlee Miller of Fallbrook, CA, Kylie, Zayne, Emersynn and Zion Acosta of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Cambree & Jaylee Swearingen of Sioux City, Zoe Ingalls of Shanghai, China, Noah, Joseph & Eric Greigg of Sioux City, Corbyn Mohr of Sioux City, Hazel & Emma Peplinski of Sioux City, her four brothers, Richard Ruger of Madison, South Dakota, Kenny and his wife Liz of Del Rio, Texas, Lyle Ruger and his wife Vikki of Redondo Beach, CA, and Donald Ruger of San Francisco, CA, and three sisters Rita Woodard of Norfolk, NE, Anne Vock of Mission, KS, Norma Sassman and husband Mert of Fort Morgan, Colorado.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Loran H Ingalls, her infant daughter Lori Ingalls, her parents Ervin and Marie Ruger, her parents-in-law Clarence and Pearl Ingalls, her brother Gerald Ruger and wife Catherine, her brother-in-laws Ben Woodard, Orville Ingalls and wife Charlene, Larry Ingalls, sister-in-laws Mary Ruger, and Darlene Curphey, and her infant great grandson Ezekiel Acosta.
