Betty L. Meisner

April 15, 1926 — January 6, 2022

   Betty L. Meisner, 95, of Vero Beach, FL formerly of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Certus Premier Memory Care in Vero Beach.

   Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.  The family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Following burial, there will be a luncheon and time of fellowship at the funeral home.

   Betty Lou, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Smith) Broeker, was born April 15, 1926 in Allen, NE.  When Betty was a young girl, her family moved from Nebraska to Missoula, MT.  She attended school in Missoula and graduated from high school.

   On June 27, 1944, Betty was united in marriage to Wilferd W. “Bill” Meisner in McLean, NE and this union was blessed with three children.  The family made their home in South Sioux City, NE.  Betty was a homemaker and also worked outside the home at the battery factory in Sioux City, Montgomery Ward’s in Sioux City and at I.B.P. in Dakota City until her retirement.  Bill passed away on December 28, 2008 and Betty continued to make her home in South Sioux City.  In recent years, she has made her home in Florida.

   Betty’s hobbies included crafting and she enjoyed reading books.

   She is survived by three children: Susie Grau of Sebastian, FL, Vickie (Steve) Wiggs of South Sioux City, NE, and William (Cheryl) Meisner of Bradenton, FL; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Robert (Iris) Meisner of Mesa, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law; husband of 63 years Wilferd W. “Bill” Meisner; son-in-law, Thomas Grau; two sisters: Wilda (Art) Erickson and Pauline (Albin) Erickson; and one brother, George Broeker.
